Expected event- meteor shower

.
Tonight the sky is playing fireworks for us.
August 12 2009 is the night when the Perseid Meteor Shower will take place.
Every year between mid July and mid August , meteor showers are expected to be seen. The greatest activity takes place around August 8 and 14th and they are around 60 meteors per hour.
The peak of this event for this year is expected today, August 12, after 9 pm. According to some sources the best show will occur between 9 and 11 pm, or later in the morning 3-4 am.
The contact between Earth and the comet Swift-Turtle, generates a bombardment of rocks and dust, the source of the Perseid meteor shower- that in reality produces a beautiful visual and audio effect.

Tonight, around 80 meteors per hour may enlightened the sky.
Perseid meteors enter the atmosphere at 133,200 mph, reaching up to 3000 degrees Fahrenheit as they burn up.
The best way to enjoy the show is to stay away from the city lights ,if possible and not get distracted by the moon which is going also to be brighter tonight.

So have fun enjoying the show! and don`t forget to make a wish...or many!
