What you left behind - what you carry on...

.
Happy New Year!
What did you left behind?
Probably - at the beginning of 2009 you made some wishes - resolutions about what you wanted to achieve that year. Now at the end of this year you ask your self what did you achieve and what not.... Are there things that you carry on for the year to come?
How about when you take your last shower in 2009 you let everything behind- bad thoughts, un-achievements, disappointments, diseases etc.
You have to carry on everything that is good in you, all the thoughts that make you stronger!
It`s all you need to move on and the rest will come. If you are stronger you will carry good thoughts, so you`ll bring luck; you`ll be more daring, so you`ll bring good results; you`ll be a fighter, so you`ll defeat disease and disappointments.
But, don`t let your self behind! Carry on your true self with no lies and masks!
Resolutions?
Your choice...
And may the new year bring all of us a better nature! It` s all we need from above to challenge us and the universe for the creation of a peaceful history.

A 2010 marvelous!

Old and new together - Globalizmas

.
What winter holidays have become? Traditions mixed equals a kitch ? I was reading the other day what one of my friends (Jolie) was writing about this subject. I couldn`t say she was right or wrong..., I just felt she had a point.
We are living in a country where different cultures are at home, where you can see various races, colors and customs making an unbelievable mixture of life enjoyment.
Who invented Christmas? And New Years Eve? What is their significance?
Scientifically speaking- the winter solstice ( the shortest day of the year), no matter the culture.
If we try to go back to a religious point- Christmas- Christianity- Jesus (Christ) birth.
Does this ring a bell?
The star - the wise men - the manger, the Virgin. It seems like a legend or an old story - that only some people remember.
Our society has transformed Christmas in a commercial holiday. Maybe there is something good about this : economy ...?! The presents? The globalization?

... Globalizmas ...

The idea of Santa is very old... it was familiar in many cultures- that a man (payed by a rich family) would come at Christmas time to bring presents to the children. Red Santa comes from Coca Cola who in the `30 wanted to bring something different, so they dressed Santa in red and white to promote their brand.
How about the Christmas tree?
That is also an old custom found in different cultures around winter solstice to mark the joy of life and the birth of a new life - but, it was a pagan tradition.
Christmas carols?
Yap, the first Roman Christians performed the first theological hymns.
Is Christmas religious or just a global custom?
New Year Day? 31 December ... of the Gregorian calendar (internationally solar calendar first introduced around 1582 ). Nothing else! - some other cultures they have their own New Year Day - in a different day. The days counting is just a mathematical calculation. Before, the New Year Day was celebrated around 1st of March (Julian calendar).

So, the basic idea is the people gathering and parting.
To forgive, to reunite, to receive and give, to smile, to bring joy and share ...
Is this as powerful as a miracle ? Isn`t this special - just because it`s common to millions and millions of people ? Different and unique in the same time.
Happy holidays!
